LEGENDS VS BUCS
GAME 1
LEGENDS 10, VC BUCS 5
The Long Beach Legends defeated the VC Bucs 10-5 Tuesday afternoon at Long Beach City College, but it wasn't easy.
​
After falling behind 4-0 by the end of the 2nd inning, the Sunset Baseball League champions had their work cut out for them, but they responded admirably scoring the next 10 runs in the game including a huge five-run 4th inning.
​
Jake Scott belted three hits and two RBI. Aaron Takacs cranked in three RBI. Jeremiah Johnson added two hits.
​
Frank Garriola had two knocks for the Bucs.
GAME 2
LEGENDS 15, VC BUCS 9
A lengthy back-and-forth battle broke out at Long Beach City College on Wednesday afternoon, but ultimately ended with a 15-9 Legends victory and sweep of the Bucs.
​
Ventura County grabbed a 4-0 lead in the 1st inning, but the Legends immediately responded with five in the 2nd inning to take a 5-4 lead. The Bucs answered with two more in the bottom of the 2nd to regain the lead at 6-5. Long Beach tied it up in the 3rd before the Bucs scored one in the 4th making it a 7-6 ballgame. The Legends five-run 6th inning gave them the lead for good.

Tyler Wilber notched three base hits for the Legends. Gabriel Garcia and Luke Hussung had two RBI apiece.
Ellis Stevens had four knocks and Thomas Keller had three RBI for the Bucs.
​
The Legends move on to Saturday's semifinal round at 11 a.m. against the South Bay Saints at Cal State Los Angeles.



The Ventura County Bucs clinched a spot in the inaugural Best of the West Tournament by earning the LA Metro League's bid.

The Long Beach Legends had an absolutely legendary season in the Sunset Baseball League. The program has been dominant since its inception in 2013.

Long Beach earned their bid by winning the SBL Tournament Championship. They finished the season 37-12 and are hungry to hoist up one more trophy!
